I absolutely love my Baraka black jersey dress, I have lived in it throughout my pregnancy from start to finish, its kept me cool and looking beautiful while my body was changing and now that I have had my baby I can continue to enjoy wear it. Its still as good as the day I bought it 1 year on, I can honestly say no one has jersey like this!

I absolutely adore the lace top,it is one of the most well made and designed things I have seen. Every time I wear baraka people compliment me on what I’m wearing.

The concept for baraka was first dreamed up in mid 2006, by friends Kath fry and Eisha Saleh but it wasnt until 2008 after much research and the ongoing challenge of finding modest yet stylish womens clothes that they decided to solve the fashion gap problem themselves.
The result is a label that is infused with love and attention to design detail. Each baraka piece is made to feel beautiful and special but also comfortable which gives you confidence everyday.
baraka draws its inspiration from the world around us, nomadic cultures, nature, exquisite textile techniques, foreign films, history, architecture, pop culture, books, travel and food.
baraka pieces tell a story and our customers love to immerse themselves into our inspiration but also practically that their purchases can be mixed from season to season without dating. “We find ourselves often designing for people we know and their needs for their wardrobe”.
Kath and Eisha work tirelessly, and without compromise, to ensure that baraka products are well designed and will last much longer than cheap fast fashion. “It is better for the world and for your wallet to invest in quality pieces that will build a dream functional wardrobe you can enjoy for seasons to come”.
baraka clothing is not mass produced, it is made in Australia with love. Each piece is carefully considered right here rather than being rushed through a production line in China. “Our products are made by a small group of makers in Sydney with over 25 years industry experience and exporting to the world”. baraka use mainly natural fabrics that breath, ensuring you feel cool, comfortable and relaxed on the go. Materials are sourced both on the local market and are imported from New Zealand or Europe. We mainly use jersey, cotton and silk which breath better and feel great.
In 2010 Baraka opened the first designer maxi dress boutique in Sydney Australia, after a cult following online for over 2 years and private sell out fashion shows. Baraka has made a dramatic claim on this global niche market. With a very diverse customer base ranging from women of many faiths that choose to wear a modest dress code to 30 + year old women struggling to find beautiful, cool, relaxed clothing that are easy to wear and make them feel confident and stylish on the go. The boutique stocks items you love like tunics, long skirts, long dresses, maxi styles, long sleeve tops, scarfs and hijab, all just beautifully designed.
Baraka is also committed to empowering women to make a difference in their world wherever they live. 5% of each sale goes back to ‘project women’. A project that works with different organisations who promote the advancement of women and children through donations, up skilling or mentoring; you can read more about this project on our “projects” page.
